Overview
This hands-on training course focuses on day-to-day management
of existing VMware Infrastructure 3 (VI3) deployments. It covers
selected features of VMware ESX Server and VMware VirtualCenter.

Module 1: Virtual Infrastructure Overview VMware products: functions and applications
Module 2: Creation and Management of VMs Use of templates Manage using VMware VirtualCenter client
Module 3: Resource Management Setting VM priorities on CPU, memory, and other resources VMotion migrations
Module 4: VM Resource Optimization and Monitoring Workload assessment
Module 5: VM Troubleshooting Systematic isolation of problems Common symptoms, faults, fixes
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, you should be able to:
- Install and configure virtual machines
- Deploy virtual machines from templates
- Migrate and manage virtual machines
- Monitor and troubleshoot virtual machine problems
Target Audience
Personnel responsible for day-to-day operations in an existing VI3 environment. (Personnel responsible for the build-out or scaling of VI3 sites should instead participate in, first, VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure, and then VMware Infrastructure 3: Deploy, Secure, and Analyze)
Prerequisites
System administration experience on Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems.
